A week ago I asked my followers on Instagram if they wanted me to share Christmas gifts for kids that cost $5 or less.

I was shocked when every single person responded with a resounding YES!

In my few years sharing on Instagram, I have never had so many people all respond with the same answer on a poll.

Below you will find my list of gifts that are great for children aged 1 1/2 to 5! Each gift costs only $5 or less at the time that I made this list.

Check back soon for my list of gifts costing $10 or less!

Children’s Christmas Gifts Under $5

Fishing game under $5

1. Gone Fishin’ Game

We have had the Gone Fishin’ Game for over a year and it still works great! Both my 20 month old son and 4 year old daughter can play the game together with little help from me!

2. Llama Llama Jingle Bells

Our family loves the Llama Llama book series. We have several books that we own including this one! It keeps babies and preschoolers engaged throughout the whole story!

Doctor play set under $5

3. Kid Connection Doctor Case

If your child is anything like my children they will love playing with this adorable kid sized doctor kit. For some reason children always seem to love giving their siblings or mom and dad a shot.

Monster Trcuk toy set under $5

4. Monster Truck Set

At the moment my son is obsessed with cars, emergency vehicles, and monster trucks. I almost bought this set for him but we ended up choosing something else (check below for what we chose!) Event though I haven’t snagged this set yet, it is definitely going on his birthday list!

Remote Control car under $5

5. Remote Control Fire Truck

If you don’t grab any other gift on this list you HAVE to snag this one! Every member of our family (adults included) have had a blast with this remote control fire truck.

There is also an equally adorable remote control police care that you can find here!

Tea set under $5

6. Pink and Purple Tea Set

One of the sweetest memories I have is when my four year old daughter invited me to a tea party that she had set up all by herself.

Sure the water tasted a little soapy, but at least she cleaned the tea pot! Grab a tea set for your little girl and watch her imagination grow!

Kids tool set under $5

7. Hyper Tough Kid’s Tool Set

Not only is my son obsessed with cars and trucks, he also loves tools! This tool set is not made with heavy materials which I appreciate! When he is whacking away at my furniture with his little hammer at least I know he isn’t doing any serious damage.

Hatchimals under $5

8. Hatchimals Alive!

This little egg may not look like much but it is super cute! Be forewarned this is SMALL, so not recommended for littles that are still in the stage of putting everything in their mouths.

My four year old daughter doesn’t have an issue like that and loves playing with her little hatchimal.

This would be the perfect toy to bring to church or keep in a busy bag. It doesn’t make any noises and its small which means it packs really well!

Hot Wheels under $5

9. Hot Wheels Cars

These mystery Hot Wheels cars are priced under $2!

10. L.O.L. Surprise! Dolls

The L.O.L. Bubble Surprise Dolls are under $4 right now on Amazon!

The Gabby’s Dollhouse figure pack comes with 5 different items! Right now you can snag it for 50% off!

12. LCD Drawing Tablet

I will be giving my son this LCD Drawing Tablet for Christmas this year! My daughter had one in the past and both kids LOVED it!

Sensory gift under $5

13. Sensory Tubes

The sensory tubes are a great sensory or fidget toy that is sure to entertain the kiddos in your life!

14. Melissa and Doug Reusable Sticker Pad

We love Melissa and Doug toys in our house. They always seem to have great quality items! This reusable sticker pad would make a great travel toy!

15. Melissa and Doug Wooden Puzzle

Speaking of our love for Melissa and Doug toys, we also LOVE the puzzles! How cute are these construction vehicles?!

16. Water Wow! Activity Pad

I promise that the best water activity pad is the Melissa and Doug brand. You would think I have been sponsored by them but i haven’t! We have tried other brands and they just don’t work as well.

17. Wild Kratts Make a Match Card Game

We love playing games together as a family. One of the first games we teach our kids is simple matching games.

Go Fish is also a popular game and this one teaches the Alphabet at the same time!

18. Play-doh Gift Set

In our house we play with Play-doh almost every day. The key to not making a mess everywhere is to have your child sit at one specific spot while playing. Our spot is our kitchen table. My daughter knows no that she can’t take her Play-doh anywhere else! This set is perfect for a gift under $5.

The Reason for the Season

I hope you enjoyed my list of gifts under $5 for kids! I want to leave you with these words of encouragement. Remember the reason we celebrate this season. Christmas time is all about celebrating the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

While gift giving is a fun tradition, it is not the sole purpose of this time. If all you can afford to give your family and friends is your time and presence, don’t feel ashamed! That is the best gift of all.

Check back for my next post for gifts for kids $10 and under!
